Qualifications: Associate's Degree plus two (2) years of administrative/secretarial experience. Data entry skills, medical terminology knowledge, and demonstrated computer skills as well as and effective communication skills required. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and organized. Must be able to speak, read, and write English and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, co-workers, supervisors and other hospital personnel on a one-to-one basis, using appropriate grammar, vocabulary, and word usage. Data/Input–Enters data into various word processing and software packages. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the requirement.
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant position is to assist in the operation of the trauma registry at University Hospital in accordance with state requirements. Primarily responsible for data entry, and supporting trauma service administrative, education and outreach, and quality assurance activities.
