Qualifications:  Graduation of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.  Applicants may be licensed in the State of New Jersey in another classification permitted by regulations to give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.  Must have attained a satisfactory level of comprehension and experience in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injection techniques.  At least one (1) year of related experience in a medical office setting preferred.  Must be computer proficient.  Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) preferred.

Responsibilities:  The primary purpose of the Certified Ambulatory Care Technician position is to provide medical assistance to physicians in the examination and treatment of patients.  As directed by a Physician, administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections in limited circumstances which may be delegated under State regulations.  Provides general office assistance including scheduling, receptionist and telephone duties. 

Credential Required: Current Medical Assisting certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
