Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration or a related field required, plus three (3) years of progressively more responsible related professional and/or administrative experience, including at least two years of experience in credentialing required. Additional related professional credentialing experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. Or, the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Certification plus three (3) years of progressively more responsible related professional and/or administrative experience, including at least two (2) years of experience in credentialing may be substituted for the degree requirement..
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Credentialing Coordinator in the Office of Medical Affairs and Education is to plan, organize and coordinate the day-to-day activities related to the credentialing and privileging processes, under the direction of the Director. The Credentialing Coordinator serves as a liaison between University Hospital and the Medical Staff and Adjunct/Ancillary Staff to ensure communication of regulations, legal requirements, and policies. Oversees activities associated with regulatory agencies as applicable to the credentialing and privileging processes.
The Credentialing Coordinator provides high level, diversified and confidential administrative and management support within the office, while exercising independent judgment and discretion in matters pertaining to the Physician, Ancillary, House Staff and medical students affiliated with University Hospital. This position supervises the Credentialing Specialists.
