Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Hospital Administration or a related field required. A minimum of five (5) years of managerial level procurement and supply chain management experience in a corporate/hospital setting required. Master’s Degree preferred. Knowledge and experience complying with NJ State procurement policies strongly preferred. Demonstrated financial and process improvement skills and understanding of commodity categorization and marketplace trends as it relates to supply management in a healthcare environment required. Clear understanding of Supply Chain Management methodologies. In-depth knowledge of the concept of strategic sourcing. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead and energize cross-functional teams within the UH Supply Chain Management Dept., within all departments in UH and among outside vendors and UH Departments. Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to make sound business decisions.
Excellent presentation skills. Understands data reporting and its impact on business decisions. Must be able to communicate comfortably with executive leadership and the Board of Trustees. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Outstanding human relations skills with the ability to function in a team environment. Demonstrated knowledge is necessary of how to accomplish and maintain superior performance in a unionized environment. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Responsibilities: Provides executive oversight and direction to University Hospital’s Department of Supply Chain Management, ensuring that all Supply Chain needs are met in support of hospital operations. As a key member of the leadership team, this position is responsible for the acquisition process of all purchased goods and services. Designs and deploys procurement and material management strategies that are in direct alignment with the Hospital’s strategic direction and procurement policies. This includes but is not limited to delivering financially sound contracts, quality goods and services and excellence through customer service.
