Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Business, Administration, Public Health or a related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of senior hospital leadership experience is required, with a demonstrated focus on improving clinical care and administrative operations while achieving financial goals and objectives. Must be goal-oriented and have the ability to analyze and solve problems, and to translate policies into daily routine operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Must have knowledge of hospital compliance with Federal, State, Local and The Joint Commission regulatory requirements. Experience in a unionized environment a plus.
Responsibilities: The Executive Vice President assists and supports the President and CEO of University Hospital and functions as his/her Deputy for all operations within the organization, making day to day decisions on the CEO’s behalf when he/she is not available. The EVP is responsible for communicating University Hospital’s strategic plan internally and externally, and for operationalizing strategies for change that will move the organization forward. The EVP assists the President and CEO with creating and achieving financial goals and efficient and effective operating procedures. He/she is empowered to delegate work to and collaborate with members of the executive team, as necessary, to execute on those goals with the full endorsement of the CEO. The EVP is expected to build trust and inspire confidence that University Hospital will successfully meet the inherent challenges of today's rapidly changing health care environment.
