Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field plus two (2) years of health education experience required, or a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field plus one (1) year of health education experience required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Certification as a Lactation Consultant or a Diabetes Educator preferred. Must possess ability to work independently on tasks, integrate in a fast-paced environment, and have exceptional time management and organizational skills. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, good public speaking/group facilitation skills, and be an effective communicator with diverse groups of people. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evening and weekend hours. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Responsibilities: Under the direction of Executive Director Community and Population Health Services, the Health Educator II for Centering Pregnancy Program is responsible for the administrative coordination, recruitment for, and co-facilitation of, the Centering pregnancy program at University Hospital, including existing programs and expansion of those programs in coordination with community partners. This role is responsible for ensuring quality of patient care, improving health outcomes for women of childbearing age, and reducing disparate health outcomes.
